Our Story of Smiles
Alec-trek was founded by Alec. Born and raised in Nong Khiaw, Laos, Alec isn’t just any guide. He knows the country and the area intimately, with a story for every path, every mountain and every tree. But people mostly recognise him as the guide that never stops smiling and has a way of drawing everyone in with his positive energy and enthusiasm for sharing local experiences. And we set the same standard for the other guides we hire: each guide was selected for their passion, knowledge and their smile.

We wanted to do it a bit different than other trekking companies. So we started with smiles and build our alec’speriences from there. Not only do we choose only the best guides to support the always laughing Alec, we would also like to offer an immersive alec’sperience into Laos by offering real Laos food, music and workshops at Alec’s home between the rice fields.

The costs depend on which adventure you choose.
The Nong Khiaw Essentialec is from $30,
The Nong Khiaw Alec’splorer from $60, and
The Ultimate Nong Khiaw Alec’sperience from $90 per person.We can also arrange transport from and to Luang Prabang for you, that is from $20 2-way.
If you wish you extend your stay at Alec’s home between the rice fields, we ask you an additional $15.

We recommend you leave your big bag at the accommodation in Luang Prabang where you stayed. If you do not return to Luang Prabang, you can bring it and leave it at the viewpoint’s office.
We recommend bringing a small bag with

We can arrange a mini bus for you that will take you from Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw. They will pick you up between 8-9 AM on the day that you booked the hike.
